Dear Chapter Presidents and members,
I am writing this letter to invite anyone who is interested in attending only the business meeting portion of the ICORN Conference/Business meeting, scheduled on October 24, 2005. Everyone is welcomed to attend. It has been brought to my attention that members who are interested in attending the business portion of the meeting should not have to pay to attend. It was never my intention to ask ICORN members who were only interested in attending the business portion, to pay $30.00, to accomplish business. It was just an oversight on my part. I encourage any member to communicate any concerns to my email address, cmfenton33@yahoo.com.
Sincerely,
Cathy Fenton, RN, BSN, CNOR
ICORN Chair
President's Message:
Dear Chapter Presidents (and members),
I am corresponding to you and your chapter members to let you know of the exciting ICORN Fall Conference that has been planned by William (Bill)
Duffy, RN, MJ, CNOR. As perioperative nurses, we have a responsibility to keep our patients safe in the OR. To this end, we need to continue our quest for education to increase our knowledge to keep our patients safe. I would like to invite you to attend the conference, “Strategies to Protect Your Patients, Yourself, and Your Hospital from Harm”, on October 24, 2009.
The Chicago Chapter of AORN will be hosting the conference at West Suburban Medical Center. Attached is the registration brochure. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me. My home number is 618-233-2511, cell phone number is 618-830-8863, and work number is 618-
257-5162.
As chapter president, you should have received a copy of the Revised ICORN Guidelines. An Ad Hoc Committee was put together and given the task of reviewing the guidelines as we did not have up-to-date guidelines at AORN Headquarters since 1998. Please review the guidelines with your chapter members and feel free to email myself (cmfenton33@yahoo.com /cfenton@memhosp.com) or Wanda Dunkel (pmwanda@netzero.com), Ad Hoc Committee Chair, with any questions or concerns. We would like to discuss the revised guidelines at the Fall ICORN meeting. I am hoping we have a good turnout at the Fall ICORN Conference. There will be a number of agenda items that will need discussing and I need everyone’s input. If there are any topics/items that you would like on the agenda, please email me or Kathi Steele, ICORN Secretary (ktsteele1@ comcast.net).
I look forward to meeting many of you at the Fall ICORN Conference. I wish you all a productive and rewarding year as president of your local chapter.
Sincerely
Cathy Fenton, RN, BSN, CNOR
- A copy of the above letter with brochure has been e-mailed to the chapter presidents.
