HISTORY

 Austin Area AORN was organized in April 1963, with the purpose of organizing Operating Room Nurses within a 75 mile radius of the city of Austin, to share ideas and to offer educational programs.  The chapter disband in June 1967 and was reactivated in July 1970.

The geographic area includes, but is not limited to, Austin, Cedar Park, Dripping Springs, Johnson City, Stockdale, Burnet, Marble Falls, Fredericksburg, Wimberly, Bartlett, Lago Vista, Round Rock, Georgetown, Leander, Pflugerville, Smithville, Bastrop, Elgin, Cedar Creek, Giddings, Taylor, Florence, Lockhart, Luling, Buda, San Marcos, Lorena, Nolanville, and Gonzales.
