Monthly Chapter Meeting

PROGRAM: "Surgical Site Pain Management" was presented by Sheila Messina, RN, MA, CL, NC,
Clinical Nurse Manager, I-Flo.

CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 1851 by President Evelyn Steen.

MINUTES: The minutes of the September 12, 2007 meeting were to be read by committee.

COMMITTEE REPORT:
BYLAWS: Kathie Shea presented the proposed changes to the AORN of Alameda County
Chapter Bylaws. The bylaws were last updated in 2005. Most of the proposed ammendments
are needed so that the wording of the chapter bylaws is consistent with those of the national bylaws.
Members present were given a copy of the proposed ammendments to review before voting takes
place during the November chapter meeting.

FINANCIAL STATEMENT: An opening balance of $5,472.01 as of 9/13/2007 and
a closing balance of $5,527.01 as of 10/2/2007 were reported by Treasurer Donna Benotti.

COMMITTEE REPORT:
WAYS & MEANS: Donna Benotti has the greens packets available for each facility
representative. The chapter will be selling wreaths, garlands and centerpiece kits. All orders and
payments will be due at the November chapter meeting. Orders are expected to be delivered during
the first week of December. Donna Rodgers will be receiving the orders where they can be picked up
from her home in Fremont.

NEW BUSINESS: Perioperative Nurse Week will be celebrated November 11-17.
Members are asked to share with the chapter any activities planned at their facilities.
Brochures for items to order in celebration of Perioperative Nurse Week are on the back table.

OLD BUSINESS: None.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: The next chapter meeting will be on November 7, 2007.
The program topic is to be announced.

ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 1913 by President Evelyn Steen.
