Board of Directors Meeting
Eden Medical Center, Conference Room
June 18, 2008

BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Joy Chau, Donna Rodgers, Donna Benotti, Evelyn Steen, Jo Sakaldasis, Kathie Shea, Marla Gonzales.

CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 1817 by President Evelyn Steen.

NEW BUSINESS: Chapter reorganization meeting with discussion on how the chapter will be operated next year and ways to encourage members to attend the monthly meetings.
The suggestion of planning a Saturday event or field trip was made. The chapter education meeting could take place before an event. These events could possibly occur twice during the year with the events open to family and friends of those attending.

Discussion of possibly having a Board of Directors run chapter took place. Joy will continue as secretary, Donna Rodgers will continue as a board member, and Evelyn will take the open board position. Evelyn also offered to continue receiving correspondence for the chapter.

Discussion continued with ideas of what type of Saturday events could be planned, i.e. baseball-related field trip during the spring.

It was proposed first that an assessment of our members and also non-members in chapter facilities take place with a one-on-one survey. Donna Benotti will prepare a membership survey to be emailed to board members and chapter facility contacts. The survey will take place in the next several weeks so that results may be gathered and presented at our next Board of Directors meeting. This will help determine the course that our chapter will take in the next year.

Next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at 5:30 p.m. at Carrows Restaurant in Castro Valley.
