October - November 2004-1
Greetings All,

Halloween is about to come and go and the November chapter meeting is coming fast. The November meeting is most important in that this is when we select our delegates to represent our chapter at Congress. The 2005 AORN Congress will be held in New Orleans April 3-7. At this time there has been only one delegate willingness to serve form submitted. Based on the total membership of the Southern Arizona Chapter, a maximum of five (5) delegates may be selected this year. It is very important to me as a perioperative nurse to have adequate representation at Congress to vote on our behalf on the selection of national officers, new and revised AORN standards, guidelines and recommended practices, position statements as well as other national issues that affect all of us in our daily practice. The Southern Arizona Chapter provides funds for each delegate to help cover the cost of attending Congress. The amount is based on the amount of funds available and will generally cover the cost of registration. If you are interested and want to know more about the responsibilities of being a delegate please contact any board member for more information.

Sincerely,
Dana Dunn RN, BSN, CNOR
President Southern Arizona Chapter of AORN
