Southern Arizona Chapter, #0302
The Roadrunner
August - September, 2005
President’s Message
Greetings AORN Members and Associates,
I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer. The ‘monsoon’ has finally arrived, providing us a much needed break from the hot dry weather. The desert is beginning to look renewed. I hope your summer vacation has refreshed you also.
I am looking forward to a great year with our Chapter. The transition meeting was held July 30th, and those attending were enthusiastic and brimming with great ideas to make our year a success. I am in awe of the talent and experience of our Officers, Committee Members and Board Members.
I was honored to be able to attend the AORN Leadership Conference in Denver this summer. One of the highlights of the conference was the tour of the AORN headquarters and meeting with the staff. I was impressed with the many ways AORN membership enhances our perioperative nursing practice. Through educations, the AORN Standards, and Recommended Practices, networking and collaboration with other members of the surgical team on a National level, AORN is providing its members with the tools to deliver safe, quality patient care.
Please plan to join us at the September 10th, meeting for fun, education, friendship, planning for future events, and the kick off of our ‘Fabulous Prizes’ Raffle. Hope to see you there.
Sincerely,
Kay Lingeman RN, BSN, CNOR
