AORN Members to Receive ANA Affiliate Membership

AORN and The American Nurses Association (ANA) struck a deal to provide all AORN members with individual affiliate, a non-voting status membership to ANA, effective July 1, 2008. The ANA affiliate membership will allow AORN members to connect with the resources and advocacy activities of ANA and the broader nursing community.

This new benefit of membership is included at no additional cost to AORN members. ANA affiliate membership benefits include:
SmartBriefs - daily news feeds with stories from press across the country
Access to full ANA policy statements and publication archives
Access to CINHAL
Access to the current issue of OJIN (Online Journal)
National Time Out Day
AORN will be sponsoring National Time Out Day on June 18, 2008, and this year AORN is partnering with the Joint Commission and the Council on Surgical and Perioperative Safety to promote this important initiative and ensure that a time out occurs with every patient, every time. -RAFFLE-
The chapter is going to continue to sell raffle tickets for the Afghan until December 2008. The Afghan will be raffled at the December 2008 dinner meeting.

-JOINT BOARD MEETING-
The Combined Board Meeting will be held Saturday, July 19th, at Beverly Sanders’ home.
